Music Planning That Feels Clear From the Start

Your wedding music should not live in twelve email threads and a random spreadsheet. We use a simple four-phase process to guide the music for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, then lock it 60 days before your wedding so the last month feels calm instead of chaotic.

Why We Plan Music this Way

Most couples are not struggling because they do not care about music. They are struggling because no one has given them a clear way to make decisions without turning the whole thing into a second job.

Without a process, music choices end up scattered across texts, playlists, and late-night notes. That creates stress for you, overload for your planner, and many avoidable decisions in the final month, you'll want focused on logistics and collaboration.

This approach keeps everything in one place. It gives you structure without making the planning feel heavy.

How Our Music Planning Works

We break music planning into four short phases inside your client portal. Each one focuses on a different part of the day, so you are only making the decisions that matter at the right time.

Phase 0 — Start Here

This is where we learn your overall vibe, your guest mix, how involved you want to be, and anything important we should know about your families, cultures, identities, or access needs. This is also where we get a feel for what you want the day to feel like from the start.

Phase 2 — Cocktail Hour

We define the tone for that in-between space when guests are settling in, finding each other, and getting their first feel for the night. You can be as hands-on or hands-off as you want here.

Phase 1 — Ceremony

We shape the music for guest arrival, the processional, any special ceremony moments, and the recessional. We also cover simple audio needs so the people who matter can actually be heard

Phase 3 — Reception

This is where we map the key moments of the evening and the arc of the dance floor. We cover entrances, first dance, parent dances, dinner feel, must-plays, do-not-plays, and the overall flow of the room.
Each phase usually takes about 10 to 20 minutes. You do not need to know every song. A few strong examples and a clear sense of taste are enough for me to build from.

The 60-Day Music Lock

All key music decisions are finalized 60 days before your wedding. That gives me time to refine transitions, build backups, coordinate cues, and make sure the plan is ready to run cleanly on the day.

It also protects your final month. Instead of still making big music decisions while everything else is piling up, you get to shift into logistics, walkthroughs, and actually enjoying the lead-up to your wedding.

Small adjustments can still happen when needed. The point is that the big decisions are already handled.

Why Your Wedding Feels Safe with US

Planning your music with me should feel like having a calm, organized friend in your corner — not another person you have to manage. You bring what you know you love, and we help turn that into a night that actually works for your people.

Most couples share a handful of songs, artists, and vibes they’re drawn to, plus anything that would feel off in the room. From there, we connect the dots, fill in the gaps, and keep an eye on the things you should not have to think about — flow, timing, and how the room is moving.

The goal is simple: less playlist homework, fewer “Did we forget anything?” moments, and a plan that feels handled well before your wedding weekend.

For Real Guest Lists, Not Perfect Playlists

Very few weddings have one shared music language. You might have older family, younger friends, different cultures, and guests flying in from a few different cities.

I pay attention to that mix early so we can build a night that feels natural for the room you’re actually inviting. That means moments that feel like you, space for the people who raised you, and a dance floor that never feels random or watered down.

You shouldn’t have to choose between a packed floor and a room that still feels like your life.

Do we have to pick every song?

No. You give us the anchors, your taste, and your hard no’s. we design the rest around your people and the flow of the night.

What if we are not sure what we want yet?

That is normal. You can leave notes like “need suggestions here” in the portal, and we will help fill the gaps with options that fit your vibe.

Can this work for multicultural or LGBTQ+ weddings?

Yes. That context belongs at the beginning of planning, not at the end. We ask about identity, culture, family dynamics, and sensitive songs early so the plan reflects your real life, not assumptions.

What if our families have very different tastes?

That is one of the most common dynamics we plan for. My job is to build a flow that makes room for different generations and different parts of your community without making the night feel disjointed.

How early do we start?

We can start as early as you like, but the important deadline is the 60-day mark. That is when all key music decisions need to be locked.
